The Lipoprotein-Associated Phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) test measures the level of this enzyme in the blood. Lp-PLA2 is associated with inflammation and the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the arteries. This test is used to evaluate cardiovascular risk, particularly for assessing the risk of stroke and heart disease.
