About the Test

The Babesia IgM ImmunoBlot detects IgM antibodies to Babesia antigens in the serum of patients suspected of having a Babesia infection. For diagnostic purposes, the Babesia ImmunoBlot test results should be used in conjunction with clinical symptoms and other evidence available to the diagnosing practitioner. This test is unavailable for patients over 65 when ordered through physician services.
