The Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase (GGT) test measures the level of GGT, an enzyme found primarily in the liver. GGT plays a role in the metabolism of glutathione and the transfer of amino acids across cell membranes. This test is commonly used to evaluate liver function and diagnose liver diseases, as well as to assess the impact of alcohol consumption on liver health.
