A month-long assessment of estrogen, progesterone, and LH allows the identification of ovulation and follicular and luteal phase hormone levels. For some women, abnormal patterns may detect deficiencies of hormones, while in other women, symptoms may be linked to normal changes in their cycles. The most value is gained if the patient keeps a symptom diary during their collection month.
This test is not suitable for women who are menopausal, women using hormones, or women who are not having periods.
