This is a single-marker test measuring the level of Collagen Type I C-Telopeptide (CTx) in the blood, a marker of bone resorption. It is commonly used to assess bone turnover and monitor the effectiveness of anti-resorptive therapies, such as bisphosphonates, in patients with osteoporosis or other metabolic bone diseases. Elevated levels of CTx indicate increased bone breakdown, which can be helpful in diagnosing and managing conditions characterized by high bone turnover.
