Introducing Immunosciences Lab

Hello, Dr. Vojdani! We are so excited to chat with you today. To get started, can you tell us about founding your company?

Immunosciences Lab was founded in 1988 by myself and Dr. Georgette Vojdani. At the time, there was very little availability for testing in the field of immunology. Now, Immunosciences Lab is a pioneer in clinical immunology. The research that went into the development of our tests has been published in the most prestigious medical journals in the field.

Amazing! Can you tell me a little more about your lab’s focus?

Our CAP- and CLIA-certified laboratory focuses on infection and autoimmunity. We test samples using the gold standard ELISA method that includes the four core principles of lab testing (antigen, purity, validation, and duplicate testing), which provides reliable and accurate reportable results.

Fantastic! As autoimmune diseases are becoming more prevalent, I know so many more practitioners are testing for them. What are your most popular tests? Why are practitioners ordering them?

Our most common tests are Lyme Panel B (detecting Lyme Disease), Virus Panel Comprehensive, and Autoimmune Profile (Comprehensive). Practitioners are ordering these tests to investigate viral infections and autoimmunity.

Excellent! What kinds of things are you all working on right now? What do practitioners have to look forward to?

Right now, we are researching the role of environmental triggers in autoimmunity.

That is amazing! I cannot wait to see what comes out of that research.

Dr. Vojdani, you have been in the functional medicine field for a long time. What is your favorite part of this industry?

My favorite part of this industry is helping people who have complex diseases.

What do you think is the future of functional medicine lab work?

Being one of the cofounders of functional medicine, I foresee lab work having more of an emphasis on the detection of early events in complex diseases.

Fantastic! To close out, is there anything else you would like to share with Rupa Health practitioners?

Practitioners should note that as one of the co-founders of Functional Medicine, I believe that I have a duty to hold myself and my lab to the highest standards of laboratory excellence, client satisfaction, and customer service. This is why I personally am at the lab to help practitioners arrive at a correct interpretation of test results, which will make a huge difference in the management and improvement of the patient's health.

Amazing! We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us and we look forward to growing our partnership with Immunosciences Labs.
